This Saturday sees Northcote City and Dandenong Thunder put an NPLVIC showcase of football with the two clubs playing in each other in what can only be described as a football feast!
Northcote and Dandenong’s NPLV teams will all play friendlies in a fun filled day at Tatterson Park in Keysborough, Dandenong Thunder’s training venue for the pre-season.
Speaking to northcotecity.com.au, Technical Director Socrates Nicolaidis said “It will be a great day of football and give us a really good indication of where all our teams are at particularly playing against Thunder who have such a strong footballing culture.”
The clash takes on even greater importance for both the Under 20s and Seniors as it will be the last hit out for both teams before the season opener against Melbourne Knights on Friday 14 March at Knights Stadium.
Under 20s coach Alex Gymnopoulos had this to say regarding the pre-season and the fast approaching Round 1 clash, “It’s been a very difficult pre-season with a lot of new faces, however I’ve been very proud of the boys in terms of their endeavour and commitment. This week against Dandenong will give us another good indication of where we are at as we approach the Knights game who I expect to be one of the strong teams in the competition.”
Head Coach Goran Lozanovski expressed similar views in regards to the senior team, saying, “The uncertainty surrounding what was happening with the NPL and the loss of key personnel has made this pre-season the toughest I’ve been involved in, having said that the players have worked hard and will no doubt be ready for Round 1 against the Knights. This week’s game against Thunder will give us another chance to see where we are at.”
The Club looks forward to seeing you there!
