Northcote City is pleased to confirm the appointment of Alex Cobo as Senior Assistant Coach.
Cobo joins Goran Lozanovski’s team having already been well acquainted with the Head Coach, which he says made the decision to come over an easy one.
“It’s been fantastic. I am really enjoying my time at here at Northcote so far.”
“Working with Goran who is my friend was a great opportunity. He called me and knew that I was no longer at my previous club. When he raised the question I straight away said that I was interested and things came together really well.”
Cobo has been coaching for ten years both in Australia and overseas, most recently having worked at Moreland Zebras and Bulleen Lions.
“I am a very young coach with heaps to learn but at the same time I’ve been coaching for quite a while.”
“I think having fresh blood and new ideas on how to do things can really help the seniors to bring that freshness that the team needs especially when they were having a difficult time towards the beginning of the year.”
City’s performances and results have seen a vast improvement since Lozanovski’s return and Cobo has no doubts that the Club can remain in the NPL this season.
“I truly believe we have got the squad to stay in the league. We have slowly had new players coming in to strengthen the team which has been very positive and I think everyone at the Club can feel that.”
