Northcote City News

Dear Parents and Players,

Another edition of what’s going on at Northcote.

The off-again, on-again scenario has finally ended.

It’s official… IT’S ON!

…and if you blink, you might miss it.

The tournament has been revised and will be completed over 3 days. Basically it’s a knock-out scenario. You lose, you go home. You win, you keep going in the tournament.

So basically, there’s no point looking past the first game. And that, for Northcote, is tomorrow morning at 9am against Box Hill.

Harry Fait’s team has been preparing all year and of course were very disappointed when they heard that there may not be a tournament. So all the kids are excited to have an opportunity to participate in an event that they’ve been looking forward to for six months.

However, their work was made a lot more difficult with two of their star players being recruited into the State team this week. They were Jono Hantsikonstantis and Peter Paganis.

On that matter, congratulations to both. They’re excellent prospects for the future and we wish them all of the best… and of course, a safe return to Northcote in a few years time.

Below are the game details for tomorrow’s game.

We’ve updated the “Who has Paid” registration list online. If you’re name is not on the list, then please contact Socs at

Here’s the list of all registered, paid players. See if you’re on it.

All players this year MUST do this online. Without it, you won’t be able to play any official matches and there is a deadline of March 28 as your last opportunity to do this.

On our website, we have a PDF that explains the process. It’s very simple and easy… and should take you no more than 10 minutes to do.

Hellenic Cup continues this week and an updated schedule is on our website. Please note that many of our teams are likely to be involved in the finals and we’ve been instructed that those games will be held over the Easter Weekend.

Yes, it’s not perfect, but we’re not organising the tournament. So this matter is really out of our hands.

Due to the late collection of registrations this year, we’ve had to order late and therefor we will get our apparel in stages. In April, before the season starts, all players will receive their Home and Away Playing Kits. The rest of the gear will come at the end of April.

That’s all for this week. Good luck to our U15’s in the Manchester United Cup. Come Monday, they could be Champions.

Yours Sincerely,

Team Northcote
