Northcote City are pleased to announce the signing of Cody Martindale from South Melbourne.
Earning himself a senior contract at Lakeside Stadium in 2015 after playing with Noble Park in State League 1, the 20-year-old was struck by injury.
“I was lucky enough to get picked from the trialists. I started playing seniors in the first couple of rounds and then I got injured unfortunately. I was out for a year then this year I started playing reserves. I wanted to be playing seniors instead of reserves so I think coming to Northcote was a good decision.”
Martindale is an industrious midfielder who will add depth and solidity to the middle of the park following the departures of Nick Tzoulis and Aaron Ward.
“I like to be on the ball but I’m probably more of a defensive midfielder because I like to work hard and track back.”
“It would be really good if I can help the team get points on the board and stay up. My personal aims are to be starting as many games as I can, get my match fitness up and enjoy playing seniors at NPL level.”
