2016 PS4 NPL Victoria Round 17- Pascoe Vale v Northcote City

Friday June 17, 8:15pm at CB Smith Reserve

11th v 13th

Northcote meet Pascoe Vale for the second time this season with Northcote looking for back-to-back wins after a 5-0 victory against the Melbourne Knights while Pascoe Vale will be looking to do the same after a narrow 2-1 win against Heidelberg United last week.

Pascoe Vale FC (WLLLW)

Pascoe Vale haven’t had the season they hoped for thus far with only four wins and nine losses. Despite losing 3-2 to Green Gully the previous week, Pascoe Vale were able secure a come-from-behind 2-1 win against Heidelberg United courtesy of a Marino Gasparis strike in the 49th minute. With an impressive victory against the Bergers, they will be looking for another competitive effort and three points when they meet Northcote at home.

One to watch: Marino Gasparis

The former Northcote favourite has been influential for Pascoe Vale since been signed by the club three weeks ago, with the midfielder scoring two goals in his starting debut last week.

Northcote City (LLWLW)

Coming off a 3-1 loss to South Melbourne, Northcote were able to respond in emphatic fashion against the Knights courtesy of an astonishing  five-goal haul from Braedyn Crowley. The hosts dominated right from the beginning as Crowley terrorised a shaky Knights defence with his speed and clinical finishing. With Northcote securing their best win for the season, they will be looking to consolidate on their victory with another three points when they meet Pascoe Vale at CB Smith Reserve on Friday.

One to Watch: Braedyn Crowley

Braedyn Crowley has been vital for Northcote since making his debut against Port Melbourne, with the striker scoring seven goals in his past nine matches. The former Newcastle Jets player also troubled the opposition with his pace up forward on multiple occasions last week.

Head to Head

The last time these two teams met was in Round 4 this year where Northcote secured a 0-0 draw with Paco at John Cain Memorial Park, while the last meeting at CB Smith Reserve in 2015 saw Northcote triumph 3-2 courtesy of a James Kalifatidis winner.
