Northcote City are pleased to announce the signing of Nathan Cook.
The Englishman, a left-footed centre-back, becomes Zeljko Kuzman’s second new signing and has been on the Head Coach’s radar for a number of years.
“I got his name given in Adelaide and we’ve been in touch ever since,” Cook said.
“I’ve been working on trying to get together with Zeljko for a couple of years. As soon as he got offered the job I was interested and he wanted me to come down.”
Progressing through Scarborough FC as a junior in his native Yorkshire, Cook has had stints in the South Australian and Tasmanian NPL with Adelaide Croatia and Hobart Zebras respectively, and most recently played at Altona City.
“You could say I’m an old school and a new school centre-half. I’m tough and I love a tackle but I like to get on the ball as well.”
The 24-year-old has high ambitions for himself and Northcote and is looking forward to Round 1 in 2017.
“The plans look good. It’s interesting and exciting. We’re looking for promotion and it’s something I want to be part of.”
“I want to be part of the long-term plans. First off I want to win promotion and go forward with the Club.”
Cook will count as one of Northcote’s visa players.
