Both sides will be buoyed by recording their first wins of the season in Round 4.

The hosts Port Melbourne travelled to Shepparton to take on the Goulburn Valley Suns and had a hard fought 2-1 win with former Northcote City player Nick Tzoulis getting on the score sheet for his new club scoring a sublime volley.

Northcote on the other hand also had a stirring win away to Pascoe Vale courtesy of a sensational header by Trent Rixon that nestled into the top right corner of the net.

City Team Manager Nick Tsamis said, “It was great to get the monkey off the back with a solid win last week, but we have to look forward to build momentum, Port Melbourne is a team we know very well having already played each twice this season in a friendly and a Dockerty Cup fixture, we have noticed that they have improved significantly, they also pride themselves on getting results at home so we will be under no illusion at the task we face in order to get a result.”

The return of Kristian Konstantinidis and Tremayne Sadler has strengthened the squad significantly but it will be offset for tomorrow’s game by the absence of Phil Petreski, who is in camp with the Australian Under 20 team.
