Pascoe Vale v Northcote City Match Preview

This Friday night at Hosken Reserve shapes up as one of the desperation clashes of the season thus far as Northcote City visit Pascoe Vale with both clubs desperate to record their first win of the NPL season.

After losing their first two games Pascoe Vale managed to record their first point in last week’s encounter away at Bentleigh Greens. Remarkably, the reigning champions have started the season with 3 successive losses having conceded 9 goals in the process.

Northcote City look certain to be without the services of star winger Evan Kounavelis for this fixture after he sustained a horrific leg injury in the clash with Ballarat Red Devils last week while fitness concerns also surround the availability of Marino Gasparis and youngster Wade Dekker in this critical fixture, further compounding coach Goran Lozanovski’s headaches as he tries to find the right formula to grab City’s first win of the season

On the positive side of things Kristian Konstantinidis and Trey Sadler return from their overseas sojourn in Holland and are desperate to be involved in halting their clubs current plight.
Speaking to northcotecity.com.au upon his return to John Cain Memorial Park, Konstantinidis said, “While I enjoyed my time in Holland trialling and playing against some top clubs and players it was killing me following the results and seeing that the team wasn’t performing at its best, I know we are a much better team than 0-3 and hope to get things going this Friday against Pascoe Vale. If I’m selected by the coach I’ll be doing my best to help the team get its first win of the season board”.
