Paralympic (7-a-side) Football

Northcote City Football Club provides the disability sport, Paralympic (7-a-side) football, for Victorians with disability. The Northcote City Paralympic Football development program is the only certified Paralympic football program in Victoria, which is the entry point of the pathway to National competition.

Paralympic Football is an exciting Paralympic sport played by people with cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury or a stroke. This sport is coordinated under the FIFA rules, with slight modifications.

The 7-a-side football field is a reduced size of 75m x 55m, played on either natural or synthetic grass with smaller goal posts. Each match consists of two 30 minute halves. The main difference between able bodied football and 7-aside football is the off-side rule does not apply in the game and players must roll the ball into the field using only one hand instead of throwing it.

Northcote City FC is proud to support Victorians with disability enjoy the game of football.
