Updated FFA National Curriculum

Today is important in the movement towards developing Australia into a modern football playing country. The FFA have released an updated, and very much expanded National Curriculum, which is available here.

We recommend that ALL members of the Northcote City Juniors family take some time to read it. This is a big document, over 300 pages, so we have marked out some key points of interest:

CHAPTERS 1,2 – For all members. Addresses the national direction with excellent, evidence-based statements.

CHAPTER 3 – For all members. Read the introduction on the ‘Building Blocks Methodology’, then follow-up on the age group most relevant to you.

CHAPTER 4 – For coaches and parents. Important to understand, as this is the coaching model that we subscribe to at Northcote City Juniors.

CHAPTER 5 – For coaches and parents. See what a model session for your age group can look like.

This document is fundamental to how we move forward as a sport, and its direction is summarised and underpinned by the following National Playing Style Statement.

Note that this fits perfectly with the Northcote City Juniors Mission Statement, which has served us so well in 2013. Whether it’s on the pitch or on the sidelines, this is the most important conversation to have at the football club, and we look forward to you being a part of it.
